We are now just a couple weeks away from Jacob's first birthday. I say that a lot, mainly because I still can't believe that our little baby will be a year old soon. When people ask his age we'll no longer be answering in half month increments, instead it will be just over a year for a few months.
The party is planned, invitations went out this morning and Michael and I are both getting excited about the party. Mostly because it's Jacob's party, but also because it is the first party we've thrown in over a year.
Jacob is so close to walking, but he doesn't seem to have much care about it. We try to show him how, but he forces himself to a sitting position before we get very far. All of a sudden about two days ago he started trying to take one step away from whatever he's holding on to every once in a while, but no success yet. It will come.
We also went to his first parade this past weekend for St. Patrick's Day. We had to get there early for a spot, so by the time the parade started he was exhausted and angry at the parade for causing such a ruckus. This attitude lasted until an ambulance float went by throwing out green stress balls, which is apparently the best thing on Earth. He wouldn't let go of the silly balls, even when he finally did fall asleep.
Below are some pictures from the parade and all of his new silliness.
Driving his fire truck around the living room
Bubbles in the back yard
Filling up for the parade...or just because he loves food
Not sure what the whole fuss about the parade is about
Now there's some fun to it
